Box truck

Also called: box truck, box trailer, closed-body truck

Updated

A box truck has a fully enclosed body that protects cargo from sun, dust and theft; it comes as a rigid unit carrying up to 10 tonnes and a trailer version carrying up to 26 tonnes.

What a box truck is

A box truck has a fully enclosed body on all sides and the roof, usually loaded through a rear door, and protects cargo from sun, dust, rain and theft more than an open deck does.

Two versions: rigid and trailer

In Mirabk’s fleet, the rigid box truck carries up to 10 tonnes on a 7 m body, and the articulated box trailer carries up to 26 tonnes on a 13.6 m trailer. The choice between them depends on load size and distance.

Box truck vs curtain-side trailer

Both protect cargo, but a box truck is fully closed with no side opening, while a curtain-side trailer opens along the side for faster loading. Choose the box truck when you need higher security and protection, and a curtain-sider when you need fast loading for many pallets.

When to choose it

Choose a box truck for electronics, appliances and high-value goods that need full protection from weather and from unauthorized access during transport.

Book a box truck at an upfront price

In the Mirabk app, choose the box truck size that fits your load and an upfront price appears before you book. A verified driver then carries it through to delivery.
