Container chassis (40 ft)
Also called: container chassis, 40ft chassis, container trailer
Updated
A container chassis is a trailer built to carry and lock standard 20 ft or 40 ft shipping containers, used to move containers from ports to warehouses, carrying up to 30 tonnes.
What a container chassis is
A container chassis is a trailer built specifically to carry standard shipping containers, using twist locks that secure the container to the chassis instead of a fixed body. The chassis itself carries no cargo directly — it carries the sealed container and its contents.
Payload and use
It carries up to 30 tonnes over 12.2 m, fits both 20 ft and 40 ft containers, and is used mainly to move containers from ports such as Jeddah and Dammam to warehouses, and for import and export flows.
Container chassis vs regular trailer
A regular trailer has a fixed body loaded directly, while a container chassis carries a separate unit that can move between ship, rail and road without being opened. That makes it the only fit for international shipping containers.
When to choose it
Choose it only when the cargo is already inside a standard shipping container, whether arriving from or heading to a port — not for cargo that isn’t containerized.
Book a container chassis at an upfront price
In the Mirabk app, choose a container chassis to move your container from the port, and an upfront price appears before you book. A verified driver carries it through to the warehouse.
